Support Emma and Max After Altadena Disaster
Donation protected
I love Emma dearly. Emma has never asked for help! Instead she has always been one of the most giving and generous people I know. As the Altadena disaster unfolded, she helped me evacuate, taking care of me, my kids, my cats... and putting us up in a hotel in Laguna. Emma has always taken care of me, and multiple of our other friends when we were struggling to make ends meet. When her son, Max, had cancer for several years, they never asked for any support, and sold their house to pay his medical bills. Now they need our help.
What she has realized is, although her house is technically standing (thankfully!), it is has significant smoke damage, some fire damage, is woefully underinsured, and toxic. The adjusters have said she may never be able to move back, and if she does, it could possible take years. Plus she has also lost her workspace and ability to make money. She is now homeless with a special needs child, and no income or savings. She cannot get to her or Max's clothing or toys and from what they understand most of what they own will be considered toxic and ne unusable. They have to continue to pay the mortgage for her home, plus find a rental. She also pays out of pocket for Max's therapies.
The financial burden is unsustainable and now she needs help to get through this time and cover loss of earnings. Anything you can give to help Emma and Max would be so appreciated. She's been there for us all, a real hub and loving center of our community. Please help! And please share too! Thank you!
