Emily Buring, Central Oregon local, survived a serious horse accident that resulted in a significant spinal cord injury and highly invasive back surgeries. She now faces a long and uncertain road to recovery, including many weeks of rehabilitation. At this time, we are unsure how long it will be before she is able to return to work or her normal lifestyle.
If you have the pleasure of knowing Emily, you know that she is always the first to offer help in any way she can. She is an amazing wife, sister, daughter, caretaker, friend and above all an incredible human being. She is always positive, supportive, and kind no matter the circumstances. Now, it’s our turn to surround Emily and her family with that same love and support.
In addition to being a highly skilled horsewoman, Emily is also a talented tattoo artist known as Buckaroo Tattoo and the owner of Smith Rock Tattoo Company in Terrebonne, Oregon. Emily studied at Monolith Tattoo Academy in Bend, Oregon, under Andy Beswick, where she had the opportunity to be part of his final class as an instructor. She graduated in 2022. From there, she continued developing her craft and began building a business of her own. She created The Buckaroo Tattoo and, through years of hard work and dedication, went on to open her own studio, Smith Rock Tattoo Company, in Terrebonne. Emily has worked incredibly hard to build her business from the ground up. While her focus right now needs to be on healing and recovery, the expenses of running her studio continue. Keeping her business afloat during this time is incredibly important so that, when Emily is ready and able to work again, she has the business she worked so hard to build waiting for her to return to.
Emily will also need her husband, Trystyn, by her side throughout this difficult recovery. He will be mainly helping care for and support her, which may also prevent him from working and create another significant loss of income for their household. This family is suddenly facing medical expenses, everyday living expenses, lost income, travel expenses, and the ongoing costs of maintaining Emily’s business all while navigating an uncertain future.
We are raising funds to provide Emily and Trystyn with some financial breathing room during this critical time. Donations will help cover essential medical, household, travel, personal, and business expenses while Emily is unable to work and Trystyn needs to be present with her. Our goal is to help keep Emily’s business open so that when she is ready to return, she still has her business and clientele waiting for her.
We don’t yet know what Emily’s recovery will look like or how long it will take. What we do know is that she needs time to heal, and every donation, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful difference. If you aren’t able to donate, sharing Emily’s fundraiser is an enormous help and allows us to reach more people in the community who may be able to support her.
Please help us surround Emily and her family with the love, strength, and financial support they need during this life changing time. Thank you for being part of Emily’s support system and for helping give our family one less thing to worry about while Emily focuses on healing.
