Support Emily's Montessori Journey

Hi! I'm Emily and I am pursuing an AMI 0-3 Montessori education in the hopes of becoming a Guide teacher for the smallest members of our community. This summer I will be staying in Portland, OR for 5 weeks attending daily lectures, creating Montessori materials, finalizing my albums, perfecting my website, and preparing for both oral and written examinations.

I believe in the work of Dr. Montessori and am so passionate about working with young children. They are full of love, light, and curiosity about the world around them. I am constantly inspired to shift my perspective, slow down, and enjoy the present moment.

In the classroom, we emphasize the importance of cultivating community. The adults model how to care for the environment and support one another. The children absorb these ideals, navigating through the world gracefully with an open mind and love to spare. While fostering independence is a primary goal of the Montessori philosophy, we also encourage the children to communicate their needs and ask for help. The role of the adult is to remove any obstacles that may prevent the child from being successful.

Currently, the obstacle I'm faced with is rising costs of living while earning less than livable wages. In addition to paying rent and bills, I am trying to budget for travel expenses, housing, and groceries while away for 5 weeks this summer. This is me, reaching out to my community, asking for help. Any amount is greatly appreciated and will not go unnoticed. Thank you!
