My name is Emily Delucca. I’m 36 years old, and I’m in severe heart failure. I’m a mother of 6 children. I know that everyone is dealing with hard financial times right now. I work part-time and am on the Ticket to Work program through SSDI. I received some devastating news today regarding my heart failure. I have several stents already and am going in next week to receive two more.

I’m also on the heart transplant list, as my EF (Ejection Fraction) was improving but now is lowering once again. My doctor said we will be discussing further options pertaining to open-heart surgery.

This will put me out of work for some time while I heal. I’m scared and lost for words. We do not receive government assistance in the form of food stamps. I’m nervous about keeping food on the table, being able to make rent, and my car payment.

My first procedure will be next week. I promise to continue to update everyone as I receive updates through my medical team. I received a radiation stress test on Wednesday, and that took a lot out of me physically. That test is what ultimately found the unfortunate, underlying, and serious procedures that I need to have done.
