Support Emily's Fight Against Spindle Cell Sarcoma

Emily is an amazing, dedicated, and loving mother whose life revolves around her family. She is also an exceptional friend .

In March of 2024, Emily was diagnosed with a rare, fast growing, soft tissue cancer called spindle cell sarcoma. She immediately began radiation therapy, and had surgery to have the tumor removed in May. When performing the surgery, the surgeon found that the cancer had metastasized (spread) on to her lungs. Emily has been going through chemotherapy and radiation therapy since May.

In October Emily was informed that her Dr. had exhausted all available treatment for her and, without the help from a specialist, her outlook is very poor. Emily contacted all three of the recommended specialists that her oncologist gave her, and the only one who would accept her as a new patient is a private medical facility in Arizona that specializes in late-stage cancers.

In an attempt to beat this rare form of cancer, Emily and her husband, Justin, will need to travel to Arizona every third week for a new type of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and immunotherapy. The cost of these trips (flights, hotel stays, rental cars etc.) add up very quickly. In addition to this, they are unsure how much of this new treatment will be covered by her insurance.

Justin is currently working long hours, and Emily is also working full time while going through treatment. They also have four sons who need to be taken to school, sports, and activities. It has been tough for them to find time to take care of all the various responsibilities of being parents, homeowners, and employees, even before adding the additional burden of travel.

Emily and Justin are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love and support from family and friends offering to help. One direct thing we could think of to additionally help support Emily, Justin, and their boys are donations to help support her care. Any donations will go directly to helping cover medical expenses, travel expenses, support the kids and to ensure Emily can focus on her fight without the stress of mounting bills.
