Update 11/18/2025: Emily is scheduled to have her port placed this week with chemo starting on Monday. She met this week with an oncology financial planner to help her figure out the best way to tackle the financial aspect of cancer. Unfortunately, despite having met her deductible for this year, her cancer treatment will roll into 2026 and reset everything. Please consider sharing this to anyone who can donate! On Sept 18, 2025 Emily noticed it was becoming difficult for her to breathe. Later that day, a CT scan showed a mass in her chest. After multiple blood draws, biopsies, scans, and weeks of waiting, Emily was diagnosed with Nodular Lymphocyte-predominant Hodgkin Lymphoma. We are very thankful that this cancer was caught early, however the journey ahead will be long and difficult.

All of us who are blessed to know Emily know that Jeff and their three kids are her whole world. She is the friend you can always count on, the typical eldest daughter, and the sister/aunt everyone wishes they could have. Now it's our turn to give back! Due to Emily needing to cut back at work as she pursues treatment, Jeff, a high school math teacher, is now the primary breadwinner for their family of 5. Unfortunately, medical expenses have already begun to add up. To receive the best care possible, Emily and Jeff are traveling hours away for appointments, surgery, and treatments. Between gas for travel, wear and tear on their cars, hotel expenses, meals while out of town, missed work, and the miscellaneous odds and ends, the expense of cancer spreads far beyond the high medical bills. No one should ever have to walk this journey alone.
