Hi everyone,

We’re starting this fundraiser to support our dear friend Emily as she begins an incredibly difficult and life-changing journey. On February 6th, Emily was diagnosed with stage 3C low-grade serous ovarian carcinoma. It’s a lot to take in, and even more to walk through.

Emily and Luke are still so early in their marriage, a time when they had been looking ahead with hope and excitement for what was to come. They have been so excited to build a life together and hope to have kids one day. Facing cancer and fertility decisions so early in their marriage is a lot to carry, but they are leaning on each other with love, strength, and a steady faith in Jesus that continues to ground them through all of this.

Before treatment can begin, Emily’s first step is fertility preservation. This is deeply important to her and Luke as it gives them hope for the future, but it comes with significant costs for medications and procedures that aren’t fully covered by insurance. After that, Emily will undergo a major abdominal surgery and spend several days in the hospital. Once she’s had time to recover, she’ll begin chemotherapy for approximately six months. All of this means long months of intense treatment, recovery, and healing. During this time, Emily will be out of work while still facing medical bills, fertility preservation costs, and everyday living expenses.

If you know Emily, you know her light. She’s the one who makes everyone laugh, even on the hardest of days. Her humor and joy have always been her medicine, and she shares it so freely with everyone around her. Now, as she faces something unimaginably heavy, we are asking for help in return so she can focus on healing instead of worrying about how to get through financially.

This fundraiser is to support:

• Emily’s medical care and treatment expenses

• Fertility preservation and family planning costs

• Basic living expenses while she is out of work during surgery, recovery, and chemotherapy
