Support Emily's Battle Against Advanced Cancer

Our beloved friend Emily is facing cancer for the second time. Despite her determined effort to keep working through chemotherapy and her treatments, she’s now unable to work, leaving her without income or assistance. As her situation becomes increasingly dire, your support in donating and sharing this is more crucial than ever

On behalf of Emily's friends and family, we are humbly asking for your help in a time of need. In late April of 2024, we were beyond devastated to learn that Emily will be fighting a battle to beat advanced stage cancer for the second time in her life.

Those who know Emily can attest to her compassion, care, and empathy. She always puts others first and her kindness knows no bounds. A cherished friend, Emily's perseverance in the face of adversity is truly remarkable. Her positive spirit and unwavering support have touched the lives of many, making those who know her feel incredibly fortunate to have her in their lives.

Emily is a lifelong Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan with a tremendous love for animals. She is passionate about the ocean and marine life, especially whales, turtles, and dolphins. Emily also loves to travel and has dreams of exploring the world and experiencing everything life has to offer. Unfortunately, this diagnosis has halted her dreams and desires, but her adventurous spirit and love for life continue to inspire those around her.

Emily has touched countless lives through her personal relationships and contributions to various causes. She has dedicated years to fundraising for Roswell Park Cancer Institute, particularly benefiting pediatric and teen cancer patients. Her efforts have significantly supported Roswell Park’s research, education, and patient-care programs. One of Emily’s passionate initiatives was supporting Carly's Club Teen Proms, where she organized hair stylists and makeup artists to pamper teens with cancer, allowing them to attend and enjoy prom with other young patients and survivors. Emily also organized numerous private shopping and pampering nights for teen patients and RPCI employees, ensuring that everyone felt valued, special, and important. She also helped create and implement the Brave Beauty in the Face of Cancer Classes for Confidence, partnering with Sephora to ensure this program reached many and was recognized nationally. Additionally, Emily has shown her compassion by working closely with organizations to provide food and clothing to the homeless and those in need in Buffalo, NY.

Complications from ongoing medical conditions have made the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of her stage 3 cancer even more challenging for her care team. The initial and current treatment for Emily, involves very aggressive chemotherapy for a minimum of six months with the end goal of surgery.

Despite these challenges, Emily remained committed to maintaining a sense of normalcy and continued to work to help support herself and her family. Unfortunately, due to the aggressive nature and side effects of the chemotherapy, she is no longer able to work.

How You Can Help

As you can imagine, Emily's diagnosis has not only halted her life but has also brought tremendous emotional, mental, and financial strain on her and her family. The anticipated expenses associated with her diagnosis are overwhelming, and she is seeking your support during these challenging times.

-Medical Expenses (chemotherapy, surgery, hospital stays) and ongoing treatments

-Medications and Medical Supplies

-Necessary every day living expenses (rent, food, utilities, insurance, fuel) due to loss of work

-Creating a healthy space where Emily can recover and experience a semblance of normal life
