Support Emily through Stage-4 Metastatic Cancer
- If you know Emily you know she has lost a lot to cancer in the past. 12 years ago she was diagnosed with breast cancer and a lung tumor causing her to lose both breasts, her ENTIRE right lung, all reproductive organs (uterus, ovaries, etc). She went into remission after years of fighting but never fully recovered.
Unfortunately the cancer is back and everywhere.
Emily has been diagnosed with Stage 4 Advanced Metastatic Neuroendocrine Cancer. It has spread to many areas of the body, including several tumors in the liver, multiple tumors on and around the spine and spinal cord. It is in the left arm humerus bone, several areas in the right femur bone, bilaterally across the entire pelvis in the bone, in several rib bones, and several vertebrae.
The most serious of the tumors is causing spinal cord compression and nerve damage and could lead to paralysis. So it needs to be dealt with first and quickly. Spine surgery will be done on Wednesday, the 2nd of April, to try and remove this tumor and release the pressure on the spinal cord.
After this hopefully successful procedure takes place and heals, we will be able to go in and start treatment on all the other sites with radiation, chemotherapy, and loads of other things.
We do not have an actual "life expectancy" timeline right now. Not yet. We need to see how things progress. But it is Stage 4, and there is no cure. Just things that can help manage it.
Medical bills are coming in from all my scans, deductibles, biopsies, hospitalizations, etc., and they will keep on coming. Brandon will need to take time off work to help me recover and deal with the facts and effects of cancer on our lives. So we are setting up a GoFundMe to help maybe get some things taken care of that would make things a bit easier for life for us.
I also have a Venmo and Amazon Wishlist (mostly cat supplies) if you prefer those.
Thank you.
