Hi, my name is Emily Rhoden, and I’m a dental hygiene student at FSCJ preparing to graduate in May 2025. My journey into this profession has been shaped by a deep passion for helping others and promoting the connection between oral health and overall well-being.
Throughout my time in this program, I’ve had the privilege of making a difference in my community. I’ve provided oral health education to special needs children in elementary schools, helping them learn how to care for their smiles. I’ve also participated in Give Kids A Smile, a program that offers free dental care to children of all ages, and I’m excited to volunteer again this upcoming year. Additionally, I’ve worked with Special Smiles, a program within the Special Olympics, where I provided oral health care screenings to participating children. These experiences have been incredibly rewarding and have only strengthened my desire to make a lasting impact in the field of dental hygiene.
Now, I’m approaching a critical step in my career: my state board exams. These exams, which I’ll take prior to graduation, are essential for becoming a licensed dental hygienist. However, the associated costs, which are expected to total around $2,000, are a significant financial challenge as I balance full-time studies and living expenses.
Passing these exams will allow me to continue serving my community, bringing compassionate care to those who need it most. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing my story, would mean the world to me as I work to achieve this dream.
Thank you for helping me take this next step toward a brighter future in dental hygiene!
