Emily Pecot is a devoted single mom who works multiple jobs to support her daughter, who has intellectual and speech disabilities. Since 2018, Emily has been a passionate advocate for special education reform, volunteering with local grassroots efforts to make a difference for children and families in her community.
Recently, while attending a Jersey City Board of Education meeting, Emily was targeted and arrested despite remaining calm and resolute in her advocacy for children with special needs. She is now facing prosecution for "defiant trespassing," a charge that could result in a criminal record and have lasting consequences for her and her family.
A recent change in Emily's employment situation has left her without health insurance, including coverage for mental health care, which she needs to support her through this difficult time. We are raising funds to help Emily maintain access to that care and provide for her family during this difficult period.
Your generosity will help Emily protect her health and continue her important advocacy work.
Any extra funds will be donated to Whole Spectrum Autsim: https://wholespectrumautism.org
