Hi Everyone,
My name is Emily Fulbrook, also known as Fulbrook, and also known as Fulz in the rugby community. I've been playing rugby since I was 15 and this would've been my 16th season playing. Unfortunately at training in September, I got a severe disc herniation in my neck that started giving me the worst nerve pain into both of my arms and into my fingers. I've never felt a pain like this before in my life. I tried an injection and physical therapy and nothing was really helping. After seeing my MRI, my spinal surgeon told me I needed surgery. My disc herniation was pressing on my spinal cord and it could lead to more sinister symptoms if I don't get it taken care of. Here comes the next part: surgery is out of pocket. I'm reaching out to my rugby community and all of my other communities that have given me so much. Rugby has brought me all over the world, I got to play for USA, and I got to meet some of my best friends through it. Rugby has also shown me what I'm passionate about and pursuing a career in physical therapy and athletic training. If anyone knows me, you'll know I've been in school for a long time working on this dream which will hopefully land my dream job of working with a rugby team. If you are able, please consider donating to my surgery. This would really help me and my family during this time. Once surgery is done and I'm recovered, I hope to return to rugby in a different light; whether that's coaching or being the Athletic Trainer for a team. Thank you.
Much love,
Fulbrook
