Hi, I am Emily and Norm's friend. With Emily’s blessing, I am setting up this GoFundMe to help with some of the costs that go along with this type of accident. Emily’s and Norm's loss of work and Emily having to be in Boston during this important time, home bills are going to take a hit. This is where friends and family can help out.
For those of you who don't know, here is the news article:
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Auburn Police Department | June 19, 2025
On June 19, 2025, at approximately 4:45 p.m., Auburn Police and Fire personnel responded to a serious motor vehicle crash on Minot Avenue, near Blackie’s Farm Fresh Produce.
The crash involved a blue 2021 Honda CRV operated by Sandra Wallingford, 74 years old, of Auburn, and a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Norman Lizotte, 62 years old, of Mechanic Falls.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Mr. Lizotte was traveling eastbound on Minot Avenue when Ms. Wallingford attempted to make a left-hand turn out of Blackie’s parking lot to head westbound. Ms. Wallingford did not see the approaching motorcycle, and Mr. Lizotte’s motorcycle struck the driver’s side front door of her vehicle.
The impact caused Mr. Lizotte to become trapped under the CRV, which came to rest against the curb and a telephone pole on the westbound side of the road. Auburn Fire personnel extricated Mr. Lizotte from underneath the vehicle, and he was transported to CMMC with reported injuries.
Ms. Wallingford was evaluated on scene by Auburn Fire Rescue and released with minor injuries.
Minot Avenue was temporarily closed in both directions while first responders worked at the scene, and officers investigated the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Auburn Police Department.
Norman had facial and spinal fractures, his right leg is broken in 3 places, and his left ankle is broken. Lots of road rash, mostly on his left side. He is on a ventilator. There is a possibility of blindness in one or both eyes. Anything you can help with right away will help.
