Hello, my name is Emily Amaro. I am 20 years old and I was diagnosed with aplastic anemia, a rare and serious bone marrow disease that prevents my body from producing enough blood cells.
Since I received the diagnosis, my life has completely changed. Treatment requires expensive immunosuppressive medications, frequent transfusions, and constant medical surveillance. It's a long, difficult, and expensive road, but I'm fighting with all my strength to get ahead.
One of the most painful aspects of this disease is that it puts my fertility at risk. Many of the treatments can affect my ability to be a mother in the future. That's why, in addition to raising funds for my medical needs, I want to give myself the opportunity to preserve my eggs through vitrification (freezing) before it's too late.
This procedure is expensive and is not covered by most health systems. For me, having the possibility of starting a family one day is a fundamental part of my hope and motivation to keep fighting.
The money raised will be allocated to:
• Treatment and medicines for aplastic anemia.
• Blood tests and constant medical studies.
• Preservation of eggs (freezing and storage).
• Transportation, food, and other expenses arising from the disease.
Every donation, no matter how small, means one more step towards my recovery and towards the dream of one day being a mother. If you can't donate, please help me by sharing this campaign with your friends, family, or on social networks.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading my story, for your support, and for helping me fight for my health and my future.
