We are raising money for our friend, Emilio. He was picked up by immigration about a month ago and is living in terrible conditions. Prior to his imprisonment, he was working hard to support his family and obtain US citizenship.

The amount of money listed is likely just the minimum needed to get Emilio out. We will know the exact amount soon. However, the reason for starting the GoFundMe prior to having the correct amount, is because he will only have a week to come up with the money once the official bail has been set. This bail also includes a green card and a social security number.

We first met Emilio about a year ago when he was hired to do work on our house. We had dozens of people involved in the construction of our home, but no one has contributed more nor made such an impact on our lives as Emilio did. He is one of the kindest people we have ever met. We regularly tell people how much we love him, especially our three-year-old daughter. Anytime they see each other they both are overjoyed. He is genuinely just as happy to see her as she is him. The bond they share is the sweetest thing.

Emilio is a good, caring individual and deserves to be free to work, support his family, and exist without fear.
