Our son, Emilio, is only 5 years old and was about to start kindergarten. He has already faced incredible challenges, arriving prematurely at 28 weeks and spending six months in the NICU. He came home on a trach and ventilator, and from the very beginning, he has shown us what a fighter he is. Now, Emilio is bravely facing liver cancer. He is starting chemotherapy and will need a liver transplant. This journey will require frequent hospital visits, specialized care, and attention. As his mother I will be stepping away from work to be Emilio’s full-time caretaker during his treatments. Anthony (dad), will also be taking time off work to travel to UCSF for appointments and need to be available during chemo sessions here in Reno. We are also working to maintain as much normalcy as possible for our 9 year old daughter, so she can continue her activities and have stability during this difficult time. Your support will help cover medical costs, travel, lodging, homeschooling resources, and day-to-day expenses, allowing us to focus entirely on Emilio’s care and our family’s wellbeing. Emilio has already overcome so much in his young life, and this is another battle we are ready to help him conquer. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for standing with us.
