Help Emilie Mullinax on Her Road to Recovery

On April 6, 2025, Emilie Mullinax’s life changed in an instant. After finishing a long double shift, Emilie went out to unwind with some friends and coworkers. Before heading home, she took a short ride as a passenger on a motorcycle — a ride that tragically ended in a devastating accident. When she and the driver didn’t return, her friends knew something was wrong. Emilie had been thrown from the motorcycle and struck a tree, suffering life-threatening injuries.

The past five weeks have been a living nightmare. Emilie was rushed to the ICU in critical condition, battling not only her extensive injuries but also pneumonia. She suffered two brain bleeds, a fractured eye socket, broken nose and jaw, a shattered clavicle, and multiple spinal fractures. Most devastating of all, her spinal cord was severed — leaving her paralyzed from the waist down.

Since then, Emilie has undergone numerous surgeries: Burr Hole skull surgery to relieve swelling, back surgery, jaw surgery (which required her mouth to be wired shut), and a tracheotomy and feeding tube to assist with breathing and nutrition.

Just this past week, Emilie was transferred to the Shepherd Center in Georgia, a top-tier rehabilitation facility. Thanks to their incredible team and Emilie’s unshakable strength, she is already making remarkable progress. She has begun communicating again and recently received a new tracheotomy that allows her to speak — a huge milestone on her road to recovery.

While we celebrate these victories, we know the journey ahead is long and challenging. Emilie is now learning how to regain independence while living in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, her home is not wheelchair accessible, and her family is facing mounting expenses related to travel, housing modifications, and daily needs. Her parents have taken time off work to be with her and are commuting regularly between South Carolina and Georgia, adding travel costs and lost wages to an already overwhelming situation.

We are so grateful to God for sparing Emilie’s life and for the healing that has already begun. Your support — whether through prayers, sharing her story, or financial contributions — means the world to us.

If you feel led to help lighten the financial burden of Emilie’s recovery, both now and in the months ahead, your donation would be deeply appreciated. Every bit helps — and brings us one step closer to helping Emilie regain her strength and independence.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
