Emiliano is an 11-year-old boy whose life changed in an instant after a tragic accident left him with a severe head injury. He is now in a coma, fighting for his life on life support. His parents, Lalo and Luzareli, are completely devoted to their son and have not left his side since the accident. Lalo & Luzareli are hardworking but have minimal health insurance coverage since they are self insured. As time goes on the cost to maintain critical care at the hospital becomes more of a responsibility of the family rather than the insurance company. To maintain hopes for Emiliano's recovery, Lalo and Luzareli will be forced to sell all of their possessions including their home. The family's world has been turned upside down, and they are facing the unimaginable—worrying not only about Emiliano’s survival but also about the stability of their two young daughters.
