Support Emilia to Fund Shad Program Placement

Hi, my name is Emma and our daughter, Emilia, was recently accepted into the competitive Shad summer program (www.shad.ca) for grades 10 and 11 students. The program receives 2000 applications per year and only half of these are accepted. This is a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) and entrepreneurship based enrichment program with a social impact component which is run through a non-profit organization.

Emilia was elated to hear the news she had been offered a spot and would dearly love to undertake this program. The program runs for one month at university campuses across Canada (June 29 - July 25 2025). The cost is $7,260 which is a barrier to accepting the placement. The fee covers all program costs, including residence accommodation, meals, academic activities, and field trips.

Currently, women make up less than one quarter of the people employed in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) careers. Taking up this placement would be an immense opportunity for Emilia to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills, be guided by academic and industry mentors, gain world changing knowledge and be able to utilize this unique experience in her life going forward. It will also support her dream of pursuing a career in STEM. Please consider supporting Emilia to do this!!
