Support Emilia and her Children to Honor Osbaldo's Memory

My name is Edith Corrigeux Barrera and I am fundraising for my sister, Emilia Corrigeux Herrera, as she and her children grieve the loss of their husband and father, Osbaldo Herrera Marquez. As the sister-in-law of Osbaldo Herrera, I write with a heavy heart to share his story and plead for your support during this incredibly challenging time. Our beloved, Osbaldo, fought a valiant and long battle against leukemia. Despite his unwavering strength and determination, he sadly succumbed to the illness last week, leaving behind a profound grief in all of our lives. Throughout his journey, Osbaldo was not only a pillar of strength for his family but also a source of joy for everyone around him despite his condition. Following multiple rounds of chemotherapy and two stem cell transplants, Osbaldo remained strong in his fight against leukemia, eagerly anticipating a forthcoming CAR-T Cell transplant as his next line of defense. Tragically, during his final chemotherapy session, Osbaldo fell victim to a sudden, opportunistic invasive infection, robbing him from our midst far too soon. At the age of 55, Osbaldo's courageous spirit lives on in the memories of those he touched and inspired throughout his remarkable journey.

His wife and children now find themselves struggling not only with the immense emotional weight of losing a cherished husband and father but also with the daunting burden of exorbitant medical bills and funeral expenses. His youngest, Emily, is a month away from graduating high school and finds herself devasted by the reality that he will no longer be able to see her graduate. Osbaldo’s dream, as an avid advocate for education, was to witness his three children attain higher levels of education to create a better future for themselves and their families. Despite their best efforts to prepare for such eventualities, since he was taken from us too soon, the costs have proven to be overwhelming, adding an additional layer of stress to our grief-stricken hearts. As we navigate through this tumultuous time, we are humbly reaching out to our community, friends, and compassionate strangers for assistance in alleviating the financial strain that weighs heavily upon his wife and children.

Your generosity and support would mean the world to his family as they endeavor to honor Osbaldo’s memory and provide him with the dignified farewell he deserves. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a profound difference in his family’s ability to cope with the financial aftermath of this devastating loss. From the bottom of our hearts, the Herrera-Corrigeux family extends its deepest gratitude for your kindness, empathy, and solidarity during this most difficult of times. Together, we can help alleviate the burden on Osbaldo’s family as they strive to heal and preserve Osbaldo’s legacy of love, resilience, and compassion.
