Urgent surgery needed! My daughter Emilee & her fiance Austin have just found out that their baby, Emilee’s best friend for 8 years has kidney failure in one kidney that needs to be removed asap. The good news is the other kidney is functioning completely normal and she will be able to live a normal life! They believe it’s possible she had a kidney stone that got lodged/infected. She had recently been taken to the emergency vet and treated for a UTI. When that didn’t clear she went back to her regular vet and was given a stronger antibiotic, but symptoms persisted leading to this discovery.

They heartbroken over this, and if you have ever known Emilee, you know her love for animals is fierce. It has been since she was a toddler.

We are so grateful the other kidney is completely normal and her life can be saved but this is going to stretch way beyond 10k between what has already been spent on vet visits, ultrasound and the needed surgery, hospital stay etc. To us, there is no other option but to save Zuri’s life and have the surgery. Emilee and Austin both work hard and have public service roles they love. Emilee has worked with Autistic children for many years, and Austin is a firefighter/paramedic. Let’s help them in their own time of need.
