My name is Emery and I was diagnosed with Stage II Grade 2 breast cancer. My doctors have identified it as Mucinous carcinoma and it has already spread to nearby lymph nodes. In the coming months I will undergo an aggressive treatment plan that begins with 16 weeks of chemotherapy starting March 16, followed by surgery, radiation, and long-term hormone therapy.
At home, my wife and I are raising four amazing kids, ages 13, 11, 11, and 9. Our household is busy, chaotic in the best way, and full of love. Right now we are trying to keep life as normal as possible for them while preparing for months of chemotherapy treatments, medical procedures, and recovery. My treatment begins soon. On March 12 I will have a chemotherapy port placed and a cardiac evaluation, followed by chemo. After chemotherapy, doctors are recommending surgery, followed by radiation therapy and years of hormone-blocking treatment.
Funds raised here will help support our family with:
• Medical expenses not covered by insurance
• Lost income during chemotherapy and surgery recovery
• Childcare and support for our kids during treatments and appointments
• Household expenses while we focus on getting through treatment
As someone who has spent years caring for others in my profession, asking for help is not easy. But right now our family is facing a long road, and any support — whether through a donation or simply sharing this page — would mean more than we can express. Our focus right now is simple: fight the cancer, get through treatment, and keep our family strong through it all. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting our family during this incredibly difficult chapter.
