Support Emery McElveen's Battle with Lung Cancer

This Go Fund Me is being set up for my daddy, Emery McElveen, to help with medical expenses- hospital stays, medication, daily life, etc. He will be 86 in November. He was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma lung cancer (never smoked a day in his life) that has metastasized to a lymph node and around his windpipe.
He was treated for pneumonia for several months and no antibiotics were helping. Another x-ray was done and it showed a mass in his right lung that was not there in October. Consults, PET scan, biopsy, scans, etc. started and on March 27, 2025 it was confirmed it was cancer that is not curable, but possibly could be shrunk some to help with the symptoms.
He has started chemo every week for 5 weeks now and immunotherapy every 3 weeks. The cancer is too large for radiation right now.
After the 2nd round of chemo he ended up in the hospital for several days with high fever and trouble breathing. He is now on oxygen at home.
On May 6, 2025 he developed multiple blood clots in his leg and started on Lovenox injections, but, he started coughing up blood so they stopped the Lovenox.
He had a lung CT scan June 16, 2025 and it shows the cancer masses have shrunk some but he has multiple blood clots in both lungs. They admitted him to the hospital to start a Heparin drip for 24 hours. He has been sent home now on 2 injections daily of Lovenox. They are stopping chemo treatments but are continuing immunotherapy infusions.
In the midst of all of this, my sister passed away and the grief has been hard.
My parents are the kindest, sweetest, Godly people I know. They do anything and everything for anyone. It breaks my heart for him/them to be going through this.
The expenses are adding up with all the medicines, hospital stays, etc. and insurance does not pay 100% for everything. Anything would help. My sister had chosen a verse for her headstone prior to her death and it is Psalm 73:26 and it is how we believe.
This has been a tough journey, but, we are faithful in knowing God has a plan and that is what we will abide by.
Thank you to all who would help out, pray or visit. It truly means alot to them!
