Who are we?

We are Maya, Sadie, and Teagan and we are bigBITE collective. We are three emerging dance artists with a specific focus on being choreographers. We came together to uplift each other through shared capacity and get our choreographic works in front of audiences. Our name “bigBITE” refers to us taking an ambitious step in our careers by self-producing and independently-presenting our works.

What is Munchiez

Munchiez is a triple bill dance show taking place at the Tranzac in Toronto, ON on May 7, 8 & 9, 2026. The show features 15 emerging professional dancers and a guest performance by 12 youth dancers! It features our three choreographies that we have been working on for many years.

We are thrilled to have received funding from the Canada Council for the Arts (each of our first successful public funding!), however we are looking to raise additional funds to bring the show FULLY to life, ensuring all artists involved can get properly paid, our accessibility considerations can be carried throughout, and the quality of our works can be fully realized.

Why Munchiez Matters

Our collective exists to create opportunities for emerging and youth artists while making dance an accessible artform that can be enjoyed by diverse audiences. We believe dance matters and that everyone can enjoy and should have the opportunity to experience dance! We are passionate about making a show in which all audience members feel welcome, encouraged and included to engage with dance.

Additionally, we are thrilled to involve 15 emerging dancers to perform in this show and pay them an appropriate artist fee!!! We are proud to also expose 12 youth dancers to the world of contemporary dance through a professional performance opportunity.

Finally, we really believe in our work. These works have been in development for years, our dancers already contributing hours of collaboration time, and we’re ready to have them shared with the world!
