Donation protected
Being diagnosed with cancer at just 23 years old is unimaginable. But, for Emberly, a para professional in Columbus GA teaching in a preschool specialized autism classroom, that is reality.
My name is Jessica, a teacher in the aforementioned classroom. Emberly is one of the strongest most loving people that I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and I am so proud to call her my dear friend, and "work sister"!
In May of 2024 Emberly lost her voice, after months of fighting with doctors and specialists; in September of 2024 she was diagnosed with Laryngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, a rare throat cancer attached to her vocal chords. In November, she will undergo extensive surgery to remove the masses and begin the healing process. During this time Emberly will not be able to work, and her fiancé Andrew will need to take time off as well to care for her. Because Emberly has used all her sick leave to attend appointments, after the surgery, the school district is not going to pay her.
Emberly and her family truly appreciate any assistance that can be provided!
