Urgent: Help Emam, Nismah, and Baby Hussein Escape Gaza
My name is Melanie Dewald from Portland Oregon, and I’m raising urgent funds for my dear friend Emam Bassam Diab Abu Ishaq (25), his wife Nismah Naji Abu Mohsen (24), and their 1-year-old son Hussein—a young family struggling to survive in Gaza amid ongoing violence and devastation. Nismah is also pregnant, adding even more urgency to their need for safety.
Like thousands of others, they have endured months of bombings, displacement, and hunger. Their home has been destroyed, and with no safe shelter, clean water, or reliable food, their situation grows more desperate by the day. Their only hope is to evacuate as soon as the border opens, but they lack the means to pay for permits, travel, and resettlement costs. They are in Khan Yunis Al-Qarara awaiting the day the borders open.
Every dollar raised will go directly to:
✔️ Emergency border crossing permits & fees
✔️ Transportation to a safer location
✔️ Temporary housing, food, and medical care for Nismah’s pregnancy
✔️ Basic necessities for baby Hussein
This family has endured unimaginable trauma—they deserve a chance to rebuild their lives in safety. Time is critical. The moment the border opens, they must be ready to leave.
Please donate whatever you can and share this campaign widely. Even a small contribution could save their lives.
*** Funds are sent from the campaign manager (Melanie Dewald) then directly to Emam on PayPal weekly. ***
