As most of you may know, I am Perrell Dawkins, youngest son of the late and great Pewee Dawkins in Negril, Jamaica. Thankfully, my friends and family were spared the worst of Hurricane Melissa on the westernmost part of the island. My heart goes out to those that have had to endure one of the most devastating hurricanes to make landfall on Jamaica in recent history.

Pewee’s Bar was hit pretty hard, and we have lost part of our rooftop. Elvis is okay; he has weathered many a storm managing Pewee’s over the decades, though he too is going to be in need of a little help.

If you are looking to donate to help in Negril and surrounding areas, I would highly recommend getting in contact with The One Love Brigade. JP and his crew have done so much to give upward momentum to the people of Negril. I trust them 100% to allocate any resources sent their way.

As for Pewee’s, it’s going to take a little time to recover, but the only option is moving forward. Let’s help out Elvis in a time of need. And hopefully, as the weeks go on, we can work on getting a rooftop back on the bar. I’ll be heading down to Jamaica next week to get some feet on the ground.
