Support Elvira Palmer's Cancer Recovery

Donation protected
My mom, Elvira Palmer, has always been a bright and whimsical person. She is kind and fun in all of the ways that adult life is supposed to beat out of you.

When we lost my dad in February of 2024, my mom struggled with eating and keeping food down but attributed it to depression. Eventually, after a series of endoscopies and colonoscopies, she was diagnosed with Stage 2 GI cancer in July of last year.

She got an esophagectomy on December 3rd, but there were complications and what was supposed to be a 10-day recovery became a four-month-long grueling battle. She was on a ventilator for about two weeks right before Christmas because her lung collapsed in her second surgery. Ever since, she has been fighting to get better and get her strength back.

I’m her daughter, Michelle. I’ve been trying to handle everything while my mom recovers, including her mortgage and other bills on top of daily life, and upcoming medical expenses. She was the primary provider for our household and the caregiver for my brother, John, who has developmental delays. I don’t want my mom to have to worry about finances at all. So I’m turning to community.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to donate, please consider sharing this and spreading the word.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for caring about my family in all of the ways that insurance and government assistance have failed.
