On the night of September 4, 2025, my cousin Elsa Joy Lazo, just 25 years old, was in a tragic car accident in San Nicolas, Philippines.
She and her co-workers were on their way home from work when their vehicle collided with another during heavy rain. The car flipped multiple times. None of the passengers were wearing seatbelts, and the slippery road made conditions even more dangerous.
Elsa was severely injured. She now suffers from:
A fractured skull
A fractured chin
A fractured arm
Vision loss in her left eye (due to the skull fracture)
She is currently hospitalized and in urgent need of multiple surgeries to treat her skull, chin, and arm injuries. Doctors are doing what they can, but the reality is: our family cannot afford the cost of her treatment.
We are trying to raise $10,000 to cover:
Life-saving operations
Hospital bills and aftercare
Physical therapy and rehabilitation
Transportation and caregiving support
Elsa is more than just a survivor — she’s a giver, a caretaker, and a pillar of her family and community. She works as the secretary to all barangays in the Municipality of San Nicolas, and is known for her kindness, intelligence, and selflessness.
After losing her mother to breast cancer, Elsa became the sole provider for her family — supporting her father, sister, niece, and nephew. Despite the hardships of life in the Philippines, she always found a way to help others first.
Now, she’s the one who needs help.
Please consider donating to support Elsa’s recovery and help her get the treatment she urgently needs. If you’re unable to give, sharing this campaign can still make a world of difference.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your prayers, generosity, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With love and hope,
— The Lazo Family
