Miss Elsa is our 8 year old yellow Labrador, whom we've had since she was 8 weeks old. We still remember the day she came home, so tiny and full of energy. She's been loved wholeheartedly every day of her life, which is full of kisses, tennis balls, and sunshine. She has brought immeasurable joy to our life, and I'm sure her siblings can say the same. She means the world to us, and we very much want to keep her healthy for as long as possible, so we can continue to make more memories together!
Of course, with old age comes health issues. Overall she is in good health, she's active and loves roughhousing with her sister and chasing after tennis balls. But, over the past few years, there are "Labrador lumps" that have grown in various places. Most prominently are the one on top of her head and the three on her belly/mammaries. There are a few others too, but these 4 are our current focus. We don't know if these are fatty tissue or possibly something worse, but as they grow they will be a hindrance to her health. The one near her eye can cause hearing and vision loss if it grows, and the ones on her belly can become cancerous if left unchecked. A biopsy will be done after the removal surgery as well.
Elsa is going in for surgery on June 11, 2026, and though we have some funds prepared for the surgery, it is a large cost, and would be so grateful to anyone who is able to contribute. Thank you for reading this far, and thank you so much if you are able to send some money our way!
With love,
Sami, Robert, and Elsa.
