Elmara Correia is a dedicated mom, community volunteer, and active member of our community. Her 5-year-old son plays at Maine Legends Academy. She has always given her time and energy to help others whether by supporting the soccer community, volunteering at local events, or spending quality time with her son. Elmara’s kindness and commitment have touched many lives in Lewiston and beyond.
Today, Elmara’s world was turned upside down when ICE agents came to her door in Lewiston, Maine. She answered the knock, only to be asked to go with them, leaving her family and community in shock and distress. Elmara is now separated from her loved ones, and her absence is deeply felt by everyone who knows her. Her son, in particular, deeply misses his mom and the warmth she brings to their home.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering Elmara’s legal fees and providing much-needed support for her family as they navigate this incredibly difficult time. The soccer community, parents, and the entire Lewiston/Auburn area are saddened by what has happened. Any support you can offer will mean so much to Elmara and her loved ones as they work to bring her home and keep her family together.
