As some of you may know, my brother in law, Eleazar (Elly) Torres, has been for the past couple of months, battling Stage 4 Colon & Liver Cancer. For those of you who weren’t aware or have not had the pleasure of meeting him, I am writing to share his story.

Elly is a 53 year old man of faith, he is a loving and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was diagnosed in May 2024, earlier this year and has been going through on-going treatments and has had multiple hospital stays and is soon going to be undergoing one of many surgeries. Daily life has not been easy but we see all the effort he puts to push through each and every day for his family. My brother in law has always been such a wonderful provider for his wife, kids, grandson and soon granddaughter. Even for me, he has been supportive throughout the years and truly took the role of an older brother.

Through these times, as you can imagine, has not been the easiest financially on my sister and her family. We are so grateful and blessed for what God has provided for my sister and brother in law through this rough time but as we navigate through this challenging journey together, we find ourselves in need of your support.

As you can imagine, Elly has been on a medical leave from work and my sister is his full time caregiver. On top of his ongoing treatments, medications and medical appointments, their finances have reached a point of turmoil and I would like to use this opportunity to help in alleviating some of the burden. We would be grateful for any support you can offer, whether it’s a financial contribution, by simply sharing Elly’s story with your friends and family, or even asking you to put our family in your prayers. Every gesture brings us closer to improving his quality of life and offering our family some peace during this journey.
