******Help Ellis Fight Lung Cancer******

Hello. My name is Devon. I am here to share a story of Ellis and how the last month of his life has been flipped completely upside down.

Ellis checked himself into the emergency room roughly 3 weeks ago due to some serious physical changes that were going on with him. After extensive labs followed by CT scans, it was discovered that he had some large masses, not only in his lungs but in his brain.
Following his release from the hospital, he has been to multiple doctors so far. It is confirmed that he has stage four lung cancer that has metastasized with three large tumors in the backside of his brain. Something like this for most people is imminent, and that is a hard reality that everyone is trying to settle themselves into.
Ellis has been forced into an abrupt stop with all things that make him who he is and the things that he enjoys the most.
He was looking forward to retiring and continuing his love for woodworking. This newfound hobby of his has become so much more than that.
He has also been told that he is not able to get in the car or ride on his motorcycle. I know that he would give anything to hop on the Panhead and take a long ride.
To know Ellis is to love Ellis. He is strong!
Let me tell you, he has one hell of a head on his shoulders. He is a mechanical genius and does not believe in quitting and giving up. I have watched this man over the years do things on his own that he’s never once done before just because he had the idea in his head that he was going to do it. He works tirelessly at any goals that he sets out. He wants to fight until his body tells him that he can no longer do so.

This week is the start of his radiation, followed by chemotherapy and/or immunotherapy! He was fitted for his mask last week for when he undergoes these treatments. It will not be whole head radiation but instead targeted, which is some particularly good news, but it's still going to be a very tough road.

Ellis is not one to ask for help. He’s a 'I got it, I can do it, and get out of my way so I can get it done' kind of guy.
Unfortunately, things like this affect every area of our lives.
Medical expenses, bills for the home, animal food, gas, etc.
His wife Lisa is the sole provider, and between going back and forth between work and tending to all of Ellis’s needs, it is going to be extremely hard not to fall through the cracks.
Friends and family are all pulling together to do anything they can to help, even if it’s just a shoulder to cry on or an ear to lend!
The road ahead of us all is going to be tough, but staying strong, persevering, and keeping a positive mind and open heart through all of this is a goal set in place.
Ellis and I met about 10 years ago now. I became very close with Lisa, and with that came Ellis. We have built a beautiful relationship together and separately between the two of them. I went through three losses back to back in my family, and they both together and alone showed up for me.
I know for me, I was someone who never thought I could have relationships like the ones I had with my family, and they proved me otherwise.
To know them is to know that they will do anything for those that they love, and they will drop everything if you need help.
Unbiologically, they are like parents to me. Ellis is like a grandfather to my son.
We all hate that this is what is happening! Keeping faith and positivity is tough, but all we can do is try to the best of our ability!
Thank you to all that have been there for him and continue to show love and support!
Sincerely!!!
