Help Our Dad Elliot Fight Stage 4 Cancer And Walk Again

Donation protected
Hi everyone, we’re fundraising for our Dad - Elliot - who in just 3 months has gone from leading a normal life at 54 working as a window cleaner, to becoming bed-bound in hospital this last week.

In March 2024 our family found out that Elliot has stage IV colorectal cancer, with metastases to the liver and lungs - this has happened so suddenly and his deterioration has been rapid, which has shocked us all.

After waiting and waiting for months for Dad to be able to start chemotherapy due to NHS wait times, he has lost sensation in his limbs. None of the doctors know what is causing this spontaneous decline in mobility.

In just a matter of weeks he's gone from walking to being unable to use his arms, hands or legs. This has meant he cannot receive chemotherapy treatment at the moment, which is so vital to his care.

We initially thought stage IV cancer and chemotherapy were going to be the biggest challenges Dad would have to face, but being bed-bound has now caused him to develop clots in his lungs and sepsis.

Dad is currently in hospital fighting this latest development, and despite everything thrown at him he is still working so hard to do what he can to stay with us, and remain in good humour. Even when things are this bad he can still make us laugh!

Our hope is this Go Fund Me page will provide us with the funds to speak to private specialists and pay for investigations into what may be causing loss of limb function, so they can treat this before it becomes permanent.

He will also need specialist physiotherapy daily to promote nerve function, which he isn't receiving on the NHS as it is very expensive.

It is so urgent to improve Dad’s mobility, and if we can raise enough money with this fundraiser to address these issues in time, he can re-start his chemotherapy regimen and continue fighting the cancer to stay with us.

We also hope these funds could help us to provide Dad with anything he needs to help him fight harder and keep him in the best of spirits, despite the horrible circumstances and increasing challenges Elliot and all his family and friends are facing together.
