My friend and fellow wrestling coach, Elliot Zackoski, is currently facing one of the toughest challenges of his life. Elliot has been tirelessly helping his father, Dave, who is battling metastatic uveal melanoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Their family is traveling back and forth to Philadelphia for ongoing treatments, which has brought significant emotional and financial strain.

Elliot’s roots in the wrestling world run deep. A standout wrestler at West Scranton High School, he went on to compete at the Division I level for Bloomsburg University, where he continued to excel both on the mat and in the classroom. After college, Elliot brought his passion for the sport back home. For the past 10 years, he has been teaching and coaching in Honesdale, dedicating countless hours to helping young athletes grow, improve, and believe in themselves.

Elliot has been an irreplaceable part of both the Honesdale and West Scranton wrestling communities. His dedication, patience, and commitment have shaped the lives of countless kids. Whether he’s mentoring athletes after practice, volunteering extra time, or supporting families in need, Elliot has always been the kind of coach who gives far more than he ever asks for.

Now, we have the chance to give back to him.

Between travel expenses, time away from work, medical costs, and the overwhelming weight of caring for a loved one with cancer, the burden on the Zackoski family is immense.
