UPDATE 5/5: Ellie talked to her on oncologist’s office today. Outpatient chemo will begin Thursday this week, then she’s off until Monday when she will begin another course of daily chemo for the foreseeable future. It was a surprise as it was thought that she’d go once a week. She will still be outpatient but daily. Ellie asked me to thank wveryone for your kindness and generosity, and even more so thank you for your prayers and thoughts, which she continues to covet.
UPDATE: Ellie had her first oncologist appointment and her outpatient chemo will begin on May 7. She’s been enjoying her time back twitch Josiah and the kids but still tires pretty easily. She’s been working on gaining some of her weight back. Thank you again to all who have made a contribution so far. Although she’s home and the worst seems to be over, she still has several months of chemo and recovery ahead of her. We appreciate so much your contributions and prayers!
UPDATE: Ellie got home from the hospital last Friday, April 14. She is slated for an oncologist appointment tomorrow, and will likely begin outpatient chemo next week. She is getting much needed rest as Josiah continues to take stellar care of their family. She has filed for disability but if she qualifies it won’t kick in for 5-6 months. In the meantime Josiah will need to stay home to care for their kids. If you can possibly help with a donation to help get them through the next 6 months it will be much appreciated.
On March 11, my daughter, Ellie Knape, was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL). She immediately began a 30-day course of chemotherapy at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo. Her boyfriend, Josiah, has done a fantastic job of taking care of their two children, Rome and Ryiah, but has been unable to work during this time. They will be needing help with expenses through the next few months until Josiah can return to work once Ellie has recovered enough to care for the kids. Ellie has been a bright spot in so many lives! Please consider a donation as she fights to win her battle with APL!
