Hi, my name is Elizabeth "Ellie" Blitz,

This summer marks my final opportunity to compete at the regional level before I begin my senior year. I am excited to be representing the state of Florida, not only in equestrian competition, but also in speech and demonstration events. These experiences have helped me grow both in and out of the arena, and I’m determined to make this last summer my best yet.

I'm excited to announce that this year, we have qualified for 4-H Regionals in Perry, Georgia from July 31st-August 4th. I completed and was invited to represent Florida to spread awareness about a respiration in horses based on summer heat. I will be presenting illustrations and demonstrations. Riders from 12 states will compete at this competitive event. As you can imagine, while it's a great opportunity, it comes with great expense. We are expected to spend between $3000-4000 for travel, lodging, stalls, competition, and show fees in Florida and Georgia. No matter how small your donation is, it will have a great impact.

A little bit about me. I have been riding since I was 4, but started showing around 12. It has been such a huge passion of mine, and something I truly love from the bottom of my heart. Through my years of showing, I have met some incredible people and got the chance to begin my journey through 4-H. We purchased my horse Gunner in May of 2022, and we have been inseparable ever since. I'm so proud of the progress and accomplishments we have made together and we have been able to travel as far as Oklahoma and proud to say we hold multiple world champion titles through western dressage. Thanks to all those around me, I'm able to continue in my journey showing, and with my final years in 4-H, and get the chance to attend state and regionals. This year we will be in Ranch ground handling, Ranch riding, Western horsemanship, as well as Western dressage. I am a senior at Riverview High School in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, as well as president of my 4-H club, Hoofprints in the Sand. Horses have not only been my passion—they’ve shaped who I am. I can't wait to see what this year holds for us, and all we will accomplish. Thank you in advance for your love and support.
