Hi all! For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Ellen O’Brien and I have been a special needs/senior dog rescuer for the past 20+ years. Some of you may know that I have been planning for some time to go volunteer for a dog shelter in Ukraine. Like many people, I have felt helpless when seeing world events happening around me and I want to contribute in some way.

I was originally planning on going last year but the timing did not work out so now the plan is to go during April vacation of 2026. I’ve also decided to volunteer with two different organizations. One is called Drive 2 Save Lives (https://d2sl.org) that uses volunteers to drive needed vehicles from London, England to Lviv, Ukraine. The plan is to drive a vehicle to Ukraine, which could take 2-3 days, and once I deliver the vehicle , I’ll then spend a few days volunteering at Green House Dog Shelter in Lviv, (https://www.instagram.com/green_house_dogs_shelter?igsh=MWFlbWx2aWxyanVhbA==) helping with the rescue animals, in whatever capacity the rescue needs me to.

I know that we just got past the holidays and money may be tight… but any amount will help and I’ll be keeping this fundraiser up as long as I can to maximize donations. The money will help with flights, fuel, accommodations, and also toys and supplies for the animals at the shelter. And any money after that will be split between the two organizations. I’ll also keep everyone updated with stories and photos on IG (https://www.instagram.com/bryan.eo?igsh=MTBndDRqeHZ0MHd5ag%3D%3D&utm_source=qr)

Please consider making a donation, any amount will help. And please share this GoFundMe everywhere you can. Thanks everyone.
