My mom, Ellen Gurganus, was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and I am doing everything I can to support her through this incredibly difficult time. As we begin to navigate appointments, treatment, and all the emotions that come with a diagnosis like this, we are also facing a growing financial burden. Because of an insurance mixup, out-of-pocket medical expenses have started to accumulate, adding even more stress to an already overwhelming situation.

Ellen should be able to focus on what matters most right now: healing and getting through treatment. Instead, we are trying to manage the uncertainty of both her health and the unexpected costs that have come with it. I created this fundraiser to help ease some of that financial pressure so she can move forward with the care she needs without carrying this burden alone.
