Help Ellen and Me Secure Our Future

Hello, friends, family, and kind folks,

I’m Brian Upton and I’m reaching out to ask for your help for my wife, Ellen, and me. We urgently need $6,900 to cover 30 days of care at The Oaks Healthcare Center Retirement Home while our family works hard to gather the documents we need for Social Security and Medicare.

Our Story

Ellen and I have been married for 48 years, and we’re both in our 70’s/80’s now. I’m a Christian man, and I’ve always tried to live my faith by going out of my way to help others—whether it’s fixing something for a neighbor or just being there with a kind word. For the last four years, I’ve done my very best to take care of Ellen at home as her health got worse. It’s been my privilege to look after her, but lately, my own health has taken a turn, and I can’t do it alone anymore. It breaks my heart to admit it, but Ellen needs more care than I can give her now. Our family is stepping in, working as fast as they can to replace lost papers—birth certificates, marriage records, things like that—so we can get our benefits sorted out. Until then, Ellen needs a safe place to stay.

Why $6,900?

The $6,900 will pay for 30 days at The Oaks Healthcare Center Retirement Home, where it costs $230 a day. That’ll give Ellen a good place to be, with folks to look after her, good meals, and some peace while our family gets everything in order. We’re hoping to get those papers submitted quick so we can move forward with Social Security and Medicare. If there’s anything left over, it’ll help with things like medicine, clothes, or getting to appointments.
