Help Ellawyn Reclaim Her Health and Stability

Hello everyone, my name is Ellawyn—though you may know me as Joram. It’s not easy to reach out like this, but after months of struggling, I’m asking for support on my difficult health journey.

Earlier this year, I experienced a sudden onset of severe symptoms—unbearable migraines, confusion, balance issues, and myoclonic seizures that now happen every 8–10 seconds. After multiple trips to the ER and doctors, I was eventually diagnosed with a low-grade, non-cancerous neoplasm. Though small, it sits between the bridge between the two sides of my cerebellum, affecting my balance and coordination and causing my truncal myoclonic seizures. It’s also taken away my independence—I haven’t been able to walk unassisted since January and now rely on a wheelchair.

Navigating this diagnosis has been challenging in so many ways. My neurologist dropped my insurance at the end of August, and since then, I’ve struggled to find affordable care. New doctors have requested additional testing to monitor my tumor, but these tests aren’t covered by insurance until they’re considered “medically necessary.” I’ve also run out of essential prescriptions and need a neurologist to get them refilled.

To make matters harder, this is also a moment of visibility for me: I’m an autistic trans woman, and while I prefer to share this part of myself in person, I’m now sharing it here because I need all the support I can get and it’s just not possible to see everyone.

I’m asking for $8,500 to cover the costs of the new tests, doctor visits, and medications I urgently need. As a single parent and someone who’s unable to work right now, I can’t do this alone. If you’re able, any donation, share of my page, or even a kind word, would make a huge difference and help me focus on what matters most—being there for my child and fighting for a healthier future.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer.

With gratitude,
Ellawyn
