Hi everyone,

We’re reaching out to share some difficult news about our mom, Lynn Lawrence. This past February, she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive ovarian cancer (MMMT). Because it is incurable, our focus now is on keeping her as comfortable and supported as possible while she undergoes palliative chemotherapy and receives home health care.

After her first round of chemo, she developed Tumor Lysis Syndrome which led to serious complications and required her to be hospitalized for a month. She was finally able to come home and complete a second round, but she has been extremely weak and has been in and out of the hospital facing ongoing complications since. 

While a nurse visits once a week, the reality is that she requires 24/7 care. My sister and I have stepped in as her full-time caregivers, helping with everything from mobility and wound care to medications, meals, and transportation to appointments.

Over the past couple of months, our lives have changed very quickly. In order to be there for her we’ve both had to significantly cut back on work, which has reduced our income while her care needs and expenses continue to grow. We are doing everything we can to keep her safe, comfortable, and at home.

We’re asking for support to help cover the ongoing costs that aren’t fully covered by insurance, including:

• Emergency & Hospital Expenses: Unexpected ER visits, hospital stays, and related out-of-pocket costs

• Supplemental Care: Hiring professional help to give us brief windows of rest so we can keep providing the 24/7 care she needs.

• Uncovered Medical Costs: Helping with the cost of specialized medications and palliative treatments not fully covered

• Daily Supplies & Equipment: Items like gloves, hygiene products, and mobility aids

• Comfort & Accessibility: Adaptive clothing and items to keep her comfortable as her physical needs change.
