Eliza Morrill has spent her career making people feel seen through a camera lens, through a kind word, through the kind of presence that makes you feel like the most important person in the room. As a wife, mother of four, and gifted photographer, she has captured weddings, family milestones, and senior portraits with a rare ability to freeze the moments that matter most.
Now, our community has the chance to do for Eliza what she has always done for others: show up.
Recently, Eliza was abruptly diagnosed with AML leukemia and is now receiving treatment in Atlanta. In her own words: “I don’t know why this is happening or what the future holds, but I do know that I have the greatest family, circle of friends, and community around me that will carry me through this immensely awful journey.”
The financial weight of this season is significant. Her husband Mike may need to miss work to be by her side, and this family already carries the extra layer of caring for two medically fragile children, meaning medical bills, travel costs, and everyday living expenses are mounting fast.
But if you know Eliza, you know she faces hard things with remarkable faith and honesty. She puts it plainly: “The Lord has sustained me during the darkest seasons of my life so far, and I have no reason to believe that He won’t do the same for me now.” She has watched the intersection of modern medicine and prayer save her children’s lives more than once, and she believes it will work for her too.
Her focus right now is singular and fierce: “Fighting hard to get home to Mike and my babies as quickly as possible, with no evidence of disease in my body.”
Eliza has selflessly given her time and talent to lift others for years. She would do anything for anyone, and has. Now it’s our turn to rally around her so that she can focus entirely on healing, without the added weight of financial worry.
If you are the praying type, Eliza asks that you join her family in prayer: for treatment success, for her health and strength, and for the ability to endure the intense road ahead.
And if you’re able to give, every single dollar will go directly toward supporting Eliza, Mike, and their children through this season.
Thank you for showing Eliza the same love and encouragement she has always given to the rest of us.
