Support Elizabeth's Fight Against Cirrhosis

Hey all, I’m starting this go fund me for My sister Elizabeth. Elizabeth has 3 children 19, 13, and 2. She has not been feeling well at all for a while now and just received some news of why. This is the text I received from her of her condition. Mind you she was never a drinker!

“I got the results of my fibroscan for my liver. The stages of cirrhosis range from 0-4 and I have stage 3 cirrhosis.

I don’t have much more information at the moment. I can slow the progress by being very diligent about what I’m eating, lots of exercise, quit smoking and try to eliminate unnecessary stress. I will also be going on more medication and have more frequent appointments/scans and bloodwork.

To be honest, I’m sick over it. I feel like I was just handed a death sentence. My head is in million different places, not really concerned about myself but more about the idea of leaving my children.”

The initial diagnosis is PBC, Primary Biliary Cholangitis which is a rare, progressive liver disease caused by the body's immune system mistakenly attacking the bile ducts within the liver.

There is no cure but medicines such as Ursodiol which she is currently on can help manage progression.

Some medications are not fully covered unfortunately so she will also have to figure out how to cover the costs.

She is unable to work right now so any little bit helps to keep her afloat until hopefully she can return in the future.
