Dwight and Laura Thomas were happily married until his passing on May 10,2025 of congestive heart failure . He had undergone multiple procedures with frequent hospital stays that resulted in many medical bills . 

Dwight and Laura purchased a life insurance policy to cover the costs of final expenses in 1982 and paid premiums  through the month of his death . When Laura filed the claim for his benefit, it was not honored at face value as it had been explained . Instead , it was a fraction of what the face value was and less than the amount of premiums paid over four decades . 

This was an unforeseen situation because Dwight and Laura were under the impression they were secured with their policy. 

The cost to hire an attorney is not a feasible option to pursue the loss . Procedures such as probate and transferring property have been delayed due to other obligations with funeral expenses and medical bills .
