Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart for a difficult request. My momma, Elizabeth "Liz" Styles, passed away suddenly on September 14th. As I come to terms with this immense loss, I'm also faced with the challenge of arranging a meaningful farewell for her. She did not have an easy life but I want to make sure she has a nice send-off, something that has always been her wish in death and something she truly deserves.

As I work through the many emotions and practicalities that come with her passing, I am faced with the responsibility of arranging her funeral. This has proven to be especially difficult, financially and logistically, as my family and I transition from our military life in California to our civilian life in Ohio in October. Unfortunately, the costs associated with my momma's passing are more than I can manage alone.

We do not have a date of service yet as we are still trying to navigate the planning, expenses, and the logistics of traveling to Louisiana but I will update everyone when we secure a date.

UPDATE: we were able to lower the cost tremendously for a celebration of life and cremation which is what she wanted. The cost dropped from $12,000 to $5,000. I truly appreciate everyone who has donated and who has shared to help. Her services will be on Oct 18th in Lake Charles, LA.
