My Journey: A Plea for Hope
My name is Elisha, and I am an international student pursuing a master’s degree in the United States. I always dreamed of studying here, believing that hard work and dedication would open doors. Despite being thousands of miles from home, I’ve remained a straight-A student, pouring every ounce of energy into my studies while juggling odd jobs to make ends meet. Yet, no matter how hard I work, finding a decent-paying job as an international student has proven nearly impossible due to visa restrictions and limited opportunities.
Every day is a battle between hope and despair. My academic achievements, everything I have fought so hard for, now hang by a thread because I cannot pay my upcoming tuition bills. The threat of being forced to abandon my degree and return home without fulfilling my potential is frightening. My dreams feel at risk of vanishing overnight—not because of a lack of ambition or effort, but solely due to financial barriers.
Despite these struggles, I hold on to the vision of giving back. My greatest hope is that, with your help, I will complete my program and use what I have learned to empower others from similar backgrounds, both here and in my home country. I want to become someone who supports students facing the same hardships, transforming the help I receive into hope for others.
Your support is not just tuition—it's a lifeline, a chance to finish what I started and pay it forward. Thank you for believing in students like me.
