On Friday, Elise and her brother Pierce lost their father suddenly. This occurred only one day before Elise's birthday. Both Elise and Pierce are full-time students and have been active in Scouting America (formerly BSA) for many years, giving back to their community in countless ways. They are kind, hardworking young adults who now find themselves facing overwhelming challenges without the support of their father.
Their father’s home has fallen into serious disrepair. The house requires significant work to make it safe and more livable. Volunteers are helping Elise and Pierce begin the cleanup, but the needs are far greater than they can manage on their own.
Immediate Needs
An open-top dumpster to clear out the house
Basic safety repairs (locks, garage door, utilities)
Cleanup and removal of damaged items
Major Repairs Needed
Roof repairs to stop leaks
Interior water damage repair
Non-functioning HVAC systems that must be repaired or replaced
Replacement of broken washer/dryer and garbage disposal
Financial Pressures
As full-time students, Elise and Pierce already face the challenges of paying for school. With the loss of their father, they must now also navigate:
Funeral and estate expenses
College costs (FAFSA aid will be updated, but this takes time)
Determining the future of the family home and possible mortgage responsibilities
How You Can Help
Donations to this campaign will go directly toward:
Securing a dumpster and completing the cleanup of the home
Addressing urgent safety and repair needs (roof, HVAC, water damage)
Covering household essentials like a working washer/dryer and safe living conditions
Supporting Elise and Pierce’s ongoing college education and basic living expenses during this transition
Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference for these two remarkable young people as they rebuild stability in their lives.
If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this campaign or reaching out with other ways to help. Volunteers with skills in roofing, HVAC, or home repair would also make a tremendous impact.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting Elise and Pierce during this heartbreaking and difficult time. Together, we can lift them up and give them the foundation they need to move forward.
