If you are able, Jessie would prefer any contributions directly via Venmo/Zelle/PayPal to avoid GoFundMe's fee (they keep 2.9% of each donation). Jessie's Venmo is @Jessie-Karsif (phone last four 3952).
How we got here:
Eli was climbing in his beloved Shawangunk Mountains with his climbing partner on October 2nd, 2024. While climbing, his gear came out of the rock and the rock became projectile, falling and hitting Eli in the face and head. Luckily he was wearing a helmet. He was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center where he was found to have extensive brain injuries and had emergency surgery to relieve the pressure and save his life.
He was comatose for 6 weeks, with uncertainty as to whether he would wake up (he has!), recognize family and friends (he does!) or be able to talk (he can!). Still, Eli remains with a long road ahead of healing and recovery. Eli has an amazing support team, including his wife Jessie, and lots of amazing family and friends who are also supporting Jessie, and their two young boys, Theo and Cooper.
We endeavor to support the family so that Jessie can focus on caring for her boys and husband for the foreseeable future.
Any support will go towards medical expenses beyond that covered by medical insurance, household expenses (in light of their now being a single-income household), caregiving expenses, and things we can't predict just yet.
If you are able, Jessie would prefer any contributions directly via Venmo/Zelle/PayPal to avoid GoFundMe's fee (they keep 2.9% of each donation). Jessie's Venmo is @Jessie-Karsif (phone last four 3952).
