Support Elis Cruz's Fight Against Kidney Disease

Donation protected
Hi everyone, let me introduce myself and elaborate on my journey. To start off, my name is Elis Cruz, born and raised in Bethlehem, PA, which I still reside in. Back in 2021, I had surgery on my right kidney, which I ended up having cancer in. I had a procedure done called a partial nephrectomy, where they cut the cancer out of my kidney, leaving me with half a kidney. This was back in July of 2021.

On April 9, I had a stroke, and it made things worse to the point I lost kidney function and was pushed to have to do dialysis on April 13, 2022. I was left to leave my employment due to the health conditions and was not able to continue to get up and go to work at the warehouse. I ended up leaving my job with a full heart and approached this matter seriously enough to at least have control of it a bit more than when I started.

As time went on, I had to rely on programs to help me afford my medical expenses, and until this day, it just kept escalating. I even went to the extent of talking with other insurance companies to get myself some better coverage. Now, I am in a bind and asking if you have it in your hearts to help me out. If you are able to help me in any financial way, whether it’s a dollar or two, I would be deeply grateful.

I am deep in the hole because my state insurance and social security health plans will not retro pay the bills I had previously from the effective date of my insurance. To this day, I’m talking daily with state programs and seeing if they can help me with paying some of the outstanding bills that are already reported to the collection agencies, which is allowing my credit score to keep lowering. This was the last resort that I was trying to avoid. But I’m left with no choice but to reach out to my own friends and family to see if I can get some help to get closer to not having to stress myself out.

I know the times are tough, and I don’t expect everyone to be capable of digging into their pockets to help me out. I have a kidney donor that is willing to help me get my life back, which is scheduled for October 29, 2025. I am beyond grateful that this opportunity has arrived in my life.

I appreciate your time and efforts and hope that anyone can help me out through this tough journey of having kidney disease. Thank you all for taking the time to read this. May you all remain with great hearts and pray as we continue to live this journey daily.
